Ceram-Etch Intra-Oral is a dental porcelain etchant containing 9.5% hydrofluoric acid gel. This dental ceramic etchant is used to repair fractured porcelain without removing the restoration from the mouth. Porcelain etching creates microscopic undercuts on the surface of the porcelain, which in turn produces mechanical retention with the bonding agent. Dental ceramic etching also increases the surface area of the porcelain resin interface. Ceram-Etch can also be used in the lab to etch veneers and "all-porcelain" restorations.
