Gresco C & P is a modern casting and pressing investment that is compatible with gold, semi-precious and non-precious alloys, as well as pressable ceramics. C & P is a “rapid fire” investment, so it is ready to place in a hot oven at full casting temperature in only 15 minutes. This is because of the very hot exothermic reaction that takes place within the investment. Tests have shown that mould will reach a temperature of 175 degrees Fahrenheit in a 90 gram ring. This feature allows the ring to be de-moulded quickly, and without the risk of breaking or cracking the mould. It can also be used in a conventional overnight technique. If a fast burnout is needed after the mould has been sitting overnight, just run tap water on it before placing it in the oven. Ample setting expansion is never a problem with C & P, as the recommended starting point for non-precious is 64% liquid/ 36% water. The results after casting are also very impressive - it divests very easily and the investment will break clean from the outside of the coping, leaving a nice, smooth finish.
